Be a Star in all 3 Zones!

Defense/Body Checking Boot Camp — (July 10-13)

The camp focus will be on defensive skills for both defensemen and forwards in all three zones. The camp is restricted to boys and girls from 9-17 years of age.

It’s vital that young hockey players are fully prepared when entering the age levels where body checking and increased body contact are legal.  Size and strength play a limited role if players are properly trained on body position, angles, correct posture, etc.

Defensive play and power skating will be the focus of the first half of each camp session.  In the second half of each session, Pee Wee players will focus on body position, body contact and puck protection. Bantams will focus on these skills, plus body checking and hitting.

Afternoon sessions focus on team play and strategy, including small area games.

Off-ice sessions balance hockey-specific skill training with isometric strength and conditioning sessions.  Team-building, leadership instruction and group activities utilizing all the amenities at the Village.

The camp is lead by NHL Veterans David A. Jensen and Glen Featherstone.  In addition, DAJ’s popular certified counselors will be on hand to insure proper teaching personal attention.

Your young hockey player will be ready for the next level after this camp.
